she wears her heart on her umbrella

...all of a sudden I woke up and realized that it's nearly April. How did that happen?

The rain seems to have settle in and today I saw endless umbrellas scattered along the streets. Broken and discarded, bent and torn. It was kind of an odd thing, to see so many in just one short 20 minute walk.

The snow came down like I'd never seen it come down before on this day, much like the rain is coming down today. (more on my photoblog)

A day of wandering around on the last day spend in Victoria...it was cool to discover Dragon Alley tucked away neatly in Chinatown.. The narrow alley made for some interesting shadows and light on the cobblestones. Since I spend most of my life chasing light, it was nice to find it neatly self contained here. The two headed man showed himself this day...

dream deep in bright light

December seems to be a great month for light in extremes and diffused. I spent the better part of this day chasing not only the light, but most importantly (to me), the fog. It got away from me more times than I care to remember, and with the winter fast approaching I figured this might be the last chance. The day of chasing fog resulted in NO fog photos at all...but when it was decided it was best to chase light instead, it didn't turn out half bad.

season of the witch

distant season, tides turning

Yes, it is upon us, the season of the witch as the old Donovan song plays through my head continually. I do believe this is the best season of all, as summer turns to autumn and all things begin to show their true colours before they die off and hibernate.

This woman on the beach, a hot sunny day, but yes, gusts of wind still on the cool-ish side. She struck me as odd, many layers of clothing, shielding herself from the sun. This is more and more frequent, umbrella's on a sunny day as the strong sun tries to make us all become raisins.

Today is my dad's birthday. Happy birthday Dad!

just a normal day in the city...

2 men flying

Walking home from work one day I came across 2 men flying by. Actually, there were a number of them hanging from the top of the library all hanging from wires for what purpose I have no idea. It was interesting to watch though, one of them was obviously an instructor, a sort of synchronized swimming exercise by air.

I never did find out what it was all about...
